Communications Specialist

POSITION DETAILS

  • Contract or part-time staff member

  • $30.00 per hour

  • Estimated time commitment: between 10-20 hours a week, depending on time of year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writes and schedules regular social media posts

  • Creates content with input from other staff members

  • Updates and monitors website content

  • Designs the newsletter, prioritizing important information and creating a schedule of regular
    topic areas (making sure that priority items are at the top)

  • Creates a list of media outlets, writes, and circulates press releases to

  • Designs event materials

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Graphic design and technology skills (Canva, web design software, etc.)

  • Familiarity with social media tools and best practices

  • Ability to suggest additional ways to market WoW

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Knowledge of local media outlets (TV, print, radio, etc.)

  • Ability to create and implement a strategic approach to communications needs at WoW
