Babi
Office Admin Intern
Summer 2021
Babi was born in a small town in the Darfur region of northern Sudan and is a first-generation college student. Currently studying Business Administration at the University of Utah, he hopes to eventually pursue a Master’s and Ph.D. His vision for the future is to start a business in his hometown of Khartoum, Sudan providing home healthcare systems in refugee camps. Babi believes that by doing his part in obtaining as much knowledge and experience as he can will he be able to make changes for his family, community, and future.
Phoenix
Development Intern

Phoenix will be graduating from the University of Utah at the end of Summer 2021 earning a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American & International Studies with an emphasis in Development & Sustainability. She is eager to apply her studies and passion in the nonprofit sector with Women of the World while expanding her professional skills and deepening her relationship with the local and international community. Affordable housing, sustainable & resilient community building and immigrant rights are among her top interests and she has a deep love for exploration and travel. Outside of school and work, Phoenix volunteers at a small farm and hopes to have her own one day
Rachel
Economic Empowerment Intern
Summer 2021
In her youth, Rachel lived in Germany which gave her a deep love for foreign countries and cultures. After graduating from a German High School, she volunteered as a docent at Temple Square Historic Site alongside 200 other women from roughly 100 countries, speaking over 40 different languages. Rachel is currently enrolled at Utah State University working towards a BS in Economics and a BA in International Studies. During her undergraduate education, Rachel spent a semester in the Philippines teaching small business principles to aspiring entrepreneurs. In addition to her work with Women of the World, Rachel currently works with a research team at Utah State University, where she focuses on public policy issues in immigration and environmental stewardship.
Tamsyn
Social Media Intern
Summer 2021
Tamsyn is a current MPA candidate at Brigham Young University. She has a BA in European Studies and has worked with several local and international NGOs and nonprofit organizations in Europe, Africa, and the US. She has a passion for women's empowerment and is excited to be part of the WoW team.
