POSITION DETAILS

The goal of the VISTA at Women of the World will be to produce effective strategies, policies, and procedures for future staff members to utilize in fulfilling WoW’s responsibilities in respect to their three programs of Community Development, Customized Service, and Economic Empowerment. To support these efforts, the VISTA member will focus on developing resources and pathways for volunteer management, community partnerships, social media management, client-focused entrepreneur and career advancement capacity development, and event marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop comprehensive engagement materials to inform current and prospective volunteers on the mission, objectives, and responsibilities of volunteers.

  • Create or maintain a volunteer database and update it regularly with new volunteers.

  • Create resources to support Mentorship, Practical English Programs, and Citizenship classes. 

  • Implement a system to track volunteer engagement and share volunteer appreciation.

  • Collaborate with staff to create pathways to incorporate volunteer voices in promotional materials, podcasts, and social media.

  • Collaborate with staff to develop an outreach and engagement strategy to connect with volunteers, clients, and donors.

  • Coordinate with the Intensive English Practical English Program Coordinator to provide volunteers and training to meet the program needs.

  • Collect data for impact reports, donor presentations or grant proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required

  • Excellent people skills required

  • Volunteer experience required

  • Proficiency in office software preferred, especially Google Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Experience with volunteer supervision preferred

  • Experience with data collection and analysis preferred

  • Knowledge of volunteer software systems preferred
